Yeah, my car is going back to the shop to be re-repaired...

They also told me that nothing was wrong with the radiator, but now the car is overheating and almost out of coolant. There’s definitely a leak, and it definitely wasn’t there before I hit that tire.

And this shoddy work cost my insurance over $2,000.

Did insurance specify the shop you took it to?

Was going to ask the same thing. I think it varies state to state but in TX you can typically ignore what the insurance company suggests and take it to your preferred shop.

I know in GA, you get to pick as well. Though they will suggest one of their preferred shops, because they get discounted rates for sending so many people there.

They gave a list of approved shops and I took it to the one with the best reviews.

I believe you are correct. I got to pick the shop after I did this to my M3:

That was a really shitty weekend for me. I was on furlough, crashed my car, got rejected pretty hard by a girl I worked with. At least they did a good job fixing it:

Ah ok, I wasn’t sure how it all worked, since it varies from insurance company to insurance company and state to state.

Dang sucks that the best reviewed one did a shitty job. Hopefully they fix it right this time, but it’s still a pain in the ass.

you know you can, and should, take it elsewhere and let the insurance company handle that. In my experience if a place can’t do it right the first time they can’t do it right. Fuck that noise. The shop will catch hell from the insurance company and possibly lose their direct repair status. If those photos are what you picked up that is amazingly awful.

Yeah, I’m seriously surprised. I get that the fender liner may have been good until it hit highway speeds, but the grille is just.... They waxed the car, and did a great job at that. How on Earth could they have been scrubbing the trim right next to it without seeing a problem?

I’m waiting to see what my insurance wants me to do. The place I used is also the official partner/overflow shop for the Kia dealer where I bought the car. I figure they have enough on the line to make things right, or they might lose all of their business.
